Warts (Verruca)
  • Warts (or verrucae), are lesions caused by a virus that  grows within the skin
  • The virus is known as the human papillomavirus, and can exist in an inactive yet infectious state outside the body.
  • For the infection to occur and for the wart to grow there must be a break in the skin.
Signs and Symptoms
  • Warts appear as a small lump of hard skin with black dots
  • Most of the time warts will occur on the bottom of the foot
  • Warts can be confused with a corn, but there are some simple differences;
